Be Kind 5K Race

Who we are:

Kin is an all-inclusive 5,000 sq. ft. retreat, offering support, fitness, therapy and integrative services. Kin is inspired by local Bucks County resident Corinne Sikora, who battled both brain and breast cancer. The Center is FREE to Bucks County, PA residents battling cancer regardless of where they are receiving treatment and welcomes caregivers as well. Free programs include nutrition, yoga, fitness, one-on-one counseling, support groups, workshops, massage, reflexology, reiki, chiropractic, acupuncture, and facials. Kin is a unique Center that looks to satisfy the emotional, social and physical needs of cancer patients. The success of Kin is made possible through generous donations from the local Bucks County Community. Kin’s mission is to help people find calm and peace and center themselves in a restorative environment. The non-profit strives to bring people to a place where they feel empowered to manage their diagnoses through treatment, recovery, and beyond. Kin is run and operated through the non-profit Main St. Missions 501(c)(3). By the Community. For the Community. www.welcometokin.org.

How many years has there been a Be Kind 5K?

We are very excited to announce that 2023 will be our first race and we are hoping to attract a record amount of participants who are into health and wellness and those who want to run, jog or walk to support and honor loved ones and friends who have or are battling cancer!

KIN 5k inspiration:

The Kin "Be Kind 5k” is the newest race in the Bucks 5k Series. Our race will encourage runners, joggers, and walkers of all levels to participate. We want to provide a platform through our 5k for locals to support those in our area who have battled or are battling cancer. While some may run and others may walk, all will honor, support, and encourage those who have been touched by cancer. Participants of all levels are welcome.

The Kin Wellness and Support Center, inspired by Corinne Sikora, happily provides free services to cancer patients and their caregivers across Bucks County. It is through events like this that we survive and thrive as our 501(c)(3) is 100% donation funded. So whether you are going for a new 5k record, or you simply want to walk with your family or a group of friends, please join us! Be Kind

How will the proceeds be used:

Kin’s annual costs are upward of $245,000. It is up to our non-profit to raise this money annually in order to cover our programs, supplies, and general operating expenses in order to offer our Bucks County Cancer Patients and their caregivers free services and support!

A noteworthy moment while preparing for this inaugural 5K?

The most noteworthy moment to date is seeing the commitment from the community to support every endeavor we undertake. This is proven by the fact that we already have secured our sponsorships, and have full financial support to cover most of the expenses to produce our race. We anticipate the next noteworthy moment will come on the day of our first race when hundreds of participants (runners/walkers/family/friends/volunteers) will come out to support one another in a meaningful way by participating in our Be Kind 5k.
